Southern Invitational Choral Conference
SICC is open to any student who is at least 14 years of age, and has musicianship skills, choral singing experience, and a strong work ethic. Students will take part in intense rehearsals and high quality performances, meeting fellow musicians from all over the Southeast. There is no preparation necessary; all music and materials will be provided at the conference.
Additional elements unique to our conference include an opportunity for students to audition for choral scholarships at Southern Miss. Information can be found online, or in the attached brochure.
Teachers may also attend, and can earn continuing education units (CEUs) by attending various sessions.
For traditional schools, we request that teachers send between one and three balanced quartets. However, we’ve recently added an option for homeschool students to attend our conference independently of a school or outside organization; a chaperone must accompany said student. If you have any student who is interested and qualified, they may attend SICC independently, regardless of voice part.
If you and any of the students affiliated with your association are interested in attending, they may access information on our website, here. There is a link to register for the conference, as well as a link to a digital copy of this year’s brochure. I’ve also attached a PDF of the brochure to this email. Additional information on our clinicians, area hotels, and general conference information can be found there.
We sincerely hope to see some of your students in September!
